How to play

Phase 1 — placing. Take turns placing your nine men on empty points.

Mills. Three of your men in a line form a mill: remove one opponent man. A man inside a mill is safe unless every opponent man is in a mill. A mill may be broken and re-formed to capture again.

Phase 2 — moving. Once all men are placed, slide a man along a line to an adjacent empty point.

Phase 3 — flying. With exactly three men left, a man may fly to any empty point.

Winning. Reduce your opponent to two men, or leave them with no legal move.

Draws. After placing ends, the game is drawn if the same position repeats three times with the same player to move, or after 50 turns with no capture.

Click a point to place. In later phases click one of your men, then a highlighted point. When you form a mill, click a highlighted opponent man to remove it. All points are keyboard-focusable (Tab, then Enter).

Lifetime results

Every finished game on this server is recorded, so the computer's strength at each difficulty can be judged from results — not claims.
